Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorm in several districts this week.It issued orange warning for thunderstorm activities, accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 50 to 60 kmph, in at least 17 districts during the next three days from Monday. Besides, it issued yellow warning for a similar activity in both coastal and interior districts, including Puri, Khurda, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur, till May 9.An IMD bulletin said day temperature would witness a drop by three to four degrees Celsius during the next four days.Meanwhile, Some places experienced light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activities in the last 24 hours. Chhatrapur in Ganjam district recorded highest 76.2mm rainfall during the day.On Sunday, Boudh at 41.7 degree Celsius recorded the day’s highest maximum temperature in the state. Bolangir and Jharsuguda each followed at 40.2 degrees Celsius. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius.
