Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) on Tuesday announced a WhatsApp-based summer learning initiative for students from Shishu Vatika to Class VIII across govt schools in the state during the summer vacation. Additional director Amita Pattanaik directed all district education officers (DEO-cum-DPCs) to implement the programme to ensure continuity in learning.As per the directive, students will be provided with class and subject-wise assignment sheets, along with audio-visual learning materials. These resources will be shared with parents through dedicated WhatsApp groups, enabling children to continue their studies from home during the holidays.OSEPA has asked district officials to ensure the creation of grade-wise WhatsApp groups of parents in all govt schools by April 25. The authority has also informed that audio-visual content linked to assignments will be disseminated through a WhatsApp chatbot system. The initiative aims to keep students academically engaged during the summer break while leveraging digital platforms for wider outreach.
