Bhubaneswar: Excise sleuths of Bhubaneswar unit on Saturday seized 45 kg of ganja at Sai Mandir Square, Tankapani Road, here and arrested two persons. Acting on a tip-off, excise officers intercepted a car and seized the ganja and nine handmade bombs.The accused, Manoranjan Roul (24) and Amarjit Patra (28), were taken into custody and produced in court. Roul, already wanted in a NDPS case detected on Dec 17 last year, was absconding after authorities seized 50 kg of ganja along with two cars.On March 17, Roul narrowly escaped after creating panic on the National Highway by ramming other vehicles during a chase. Again, on March 26, he evaded capture at Medical Square, Khurda, by hitting excise officers, staff, and their official vehicle. Officials confirmed that both accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
