Kendrapada: The ad-hoc additional district and sessions judge-cum-fast track court, Jajpur has sentenced a 36-year-old man to life imprisonment on Friday for raping a 36-year-old married woman eight years ago. The judge, Sarat Kumar Dehry, imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the convict, native of a village in the district. Failure to pay which would result in his sentence being increased to two months. The court directed the Odisha State Legal Services Authority to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the survivor.
