Sambalpur: Sambalpur police introduced a dedicated helpline number for ASHA workers in the district following a suggestion from Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Pradhan attended the district-level ASHA and Village Welfare Committee conference held at Gangadhar Meher University on Feb 27. He interacted with ASHA workers and committee members and listened to their concerns regarding grassroots healthcare services and regional development.
While addressing officials, including Sambalpur SP Mukesh Bhamoo, Pradhan suggested launching a dedicated helpline to help ASHA workers report issues, seek assistance while on duty and convey urgent concerns to police. Acting on the suggestion, Sambalpur police on Friday announced the helpline — 943754831, which was shared publicly by Bhamoo over social media platforms. This initiative is expected to improve coordination between ASHA workers and law enforcement agencies and ensure quicker support and enhanced safety for frontline health workers across the district.
