Union min, deputy CM review schemes for women, kids

Bhubaneswar: Union women and child development minister Annapurna Devi and deputy chief minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday reviewed the progress of key schemes in the state.Devi praised the state’s Subhadra Yojana, noting that direct transfer of assistance to women’s bank accounts strengthens financial independence. She recommended organising Tithi Bhojan in anganwadi centres and observing Poshan Diwas and Poshan Week to boost nutrition efforts, stressing that coordinated govt-citizen initiatives can help eliminate malnutrition. She assured full support through Centre-state convergence.

Parida said women’s empowerment and child safety remain top priorities for the state govt. She announced that the fourth instalment of Subhadra Yojana will be credited on March 8, ensuring timely and transparent disbursement. She noted that coordinated central and state schemes are improving the quality of life of women and children.The meeting reviewed programmes across nutrition, protection and education, including Mission Vatsalya, Ashirbad, Jashoda, and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, with emphasis on challenges in tribal and remote areas.
