Koraput: At least 16 final year UG students of Vikram Dev University, Jeypore, have secured job offers during a recruitment drive conducted on the university premises on Tuesday.The placement drive organised by the career counselling and placement cell saw participation from leading companies, including Vedanta Limited and Hetero Labs. While Vedanta, which operates in Lanjigarh, selected three students, Hyderabad-based Hetero Labs recruited 13 candidates.Providing details on the compensation, placement officer Brajabandhu Nanda said students selected by Vedanta will receive annual packages ranging from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4.65 lakh, while those recruited by Hetero Labs will be offered around Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.Nanda said the university is making sustained efforts to expand placement opportunities so that students can secure employment immediately after graduation. “We are working to bring more companies to the campus so that students step out of the university with job offers in hand,” he said.He said discussions are underway with major firms such as Mahindra Group and HDFC Bank to organise recruitment drives.
