Berhampur: As part of the ongoing Operation Cyber Kavach, the Berhampur cyber crime & economic offences police on Sunday busted a syndicate specialising in forming and operating mule accounts by arresting two persons, including a 38-year-old woman.These accounts served as primary conduits for laundering stolen funds across a nationwide cyber criminal network, said police. Probe found more than eight mule accounts operated in names of relatives of the two accused where money swindled by cyber criminals from victims across India were deposited and transferred. tnn“Total money swindled from the victim was around Rs1 crore over a year since 2025,” said SP Berhampur Saravana Vivek M.The accused were identified as Satya Narayan Dash (51), a resident of Goutamnagar, and his 38-year-old neice, said police.
