HSC subjective evaluation from March 19, results in May | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: The results of the Class X annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will be announced in May. The evaluation is being carried out in two phases — objective and subjective evaluation. While evaluation of objective OMR answer sheets is currently underway, the BSE engaged 15,000 teachers to check subjective answers, which will begin from March 19. The teachers will be engaged as chief examiners, deputy chief examiners, assistant examiners and scrutinisers to carry out the evaluation. Each evaluator will check 25 to 35 answer sheets per day. BSE president Srikant Tarai said as many as 51 evaluation centres were set up across the state for subjective evaluation, and all the facilities are under strict vigilance. “We assure that all steps are being taken to conduct the evaluation in a smooth and error-free manner,” he said. Efforts will be made to declare the results by the first or second week of May, he added. Usually, evaluation of answer sheets continues for 10 to 12 days. A total of 70,000 personnel, both teaching and non-teaching staff, were engaged in this year’s HSC examination, which concluded on March 2. Around 5,61,997 students registered to appear for the examination this year. This year’s HSC, Madhyama and State Open School Certificate examinations were incident-free, and no malpractice cases were reported. “Although minor irregularities were reported during distribution of question papers in some examination centres, the issues were sorted out at the centres themselves,” Tarai said. Students wrote the examinations at 3,082 centres.
