It seems that there is a trend of doing fasting in our country. As all the political leaders are doing fasting in order to protest for some or the other thing. After Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, now Narendra Modi is also on fast. Its been a few days ago that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his party members did fasting. This nationwide fasting is declared over a wide diversity of issues. This includes so-called caste and communal violence. Also for accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being “anti-Dalit”.
On Thursday Prime Minister, Narendra Modi along with the lawmakers of BJP are in a daylong fast. They are fasting and doing Dharna against the recent parliament washout.This is done to protest against the opposition’s decision of not allowing the Parliament to function in the budget session. Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj fast in Delhi.
PM Modi said “I will also hold a fast, but I will continue my work,” said PM Modi, who will go to work and is also visiting Tamil Nadu for the opening of the Defence Expo.
PM audio message
In an audio message given by PM Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister insisted all BJP parliamentarians and legislators to actively participate in the day-long fast. It is necessary to “uncover some of the people who had controlled democracy” by unsettling the budget session.
Congress killed democracy
As per Narendra Modi “Those parties who are not able to attain power in 2014, don’t want a country to move forward for the better. it is due to hunger for power and ego of politicians. They don’t bother about the country and its people, just want the political chair. They didn’t want the parliament to work for a single day inorder to disturb the proper functioning of the sessions.
Through teleconference, he conveyed his message to everyone. Also addresses MPs to spot Jyotiba Phule’s a social reformer birth anniversary.
He blamed Congress and indirectly said that they are killing democracy. And in order to stop them doing that they all had to go for daylong fast across the nation. Through the fast, they will uncover them in front of the world.
Fasting by BJP leaders across all the states
Not just Narendra Modi is on the fast today. In fact, all the other BJP ministers including MLAs, MPs, and workers have been found busy fasting in different states and cities of the country.
Other significant ministers and leaders includes include Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan observe fasting at New Delhi. Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, Maneka Gandhi and MP Meenakshi Lekhi – will be fasting in the Hanuman temple of Delhi.
Though few ministers are fasting at Delhi. There are many who will going to travel to different cities and even their home states.
Amit Shah will go for protest in Hubli at Karnataka. Here elections will be going to held on May 12.
Earlier the BJP leaders declared that all MPs of the ruling National Democratic Alliance will sacrifice their allowances and salaries. They will sacrifice for over 23 days because of the budget session ruin.
