Four, including two women, are killed and eight people have been pulled out of the debris.
Senior officials including DIG Mishra and district collector Nishant Warwade rushed to the spot to keep tab over the rescue operation.
One person died and over two-dozen people were feared trapped in the debris of a four-storey hotel that collapsed late night near Sarwate Bus Stand in Indore on Saturday.
Police reached the spot within 20 minutes and cordoned of the square where roads from the bus stand and the railway station converged.
Panic spread in the area as dust rose from the falling debris bringing people gathered in the area on toes.
Police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot attempting to pull out people from under the debris.
A portion of the debris also fell on a building that housed residences. At least three people were trapped inside the residential block.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the dilapidated structure came crumbling down at around 9.17pm when a car collided with a weight-bearing pillar on the front portion of the building, creating panic in the busy area that hosts a major bus stand and eateries which were full of customers.
