India draw the Hockey match against Pakistan by 2-2

On the first day of Commonwealth Games 2018, Mirabai Chanu and P Gururaja the Indian weightlifter won gold and silver medal at the mega event. Indian Hockey team draw the match against Pakistan by 2-2.

India impressive beginning in Commonwealth Games 2018 Day 1

India gave a stunning performance on the first day of Commonwealth Games 2018 by winning the match against Sri-Lanka by 5-0 in the opening of the mixed team event.

Pakistan lost the match against India mixed team with the similar scoreline.

 

 

In Weightlifting:

Mirabai Chanu won her first gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2018 by lifting the amazing weight of 196kg (86kg+110kg).

While P Gururaja failed twice in the starting but afterward manage to win a silver medal for lifting the weight of 149 Kg (111 kg + 138kg) in the Commonwealth Games 2018.

In Badminton:

Saina Nehwal finished her first match in Commonwealth Games 2018 against Madushika Beruelage in just 22 minutes.

In Squash:

Harinder Pal Sandhu along with Vikram Malhotra won their opening games. Both Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal Karthik won their opening match in women’s singles squash event.

While Saurav Ghosal lost his match in the round of 64 clashes in men’s singles event. Harinder lost his 32 matches against Malaysia’s Ivan Yuen and was out of the Commonwealth Games 2018.

In Table tennis 

The team of men and women played very well in the table tennis match by defeating Trinidad, Tobago, and Sri Lanka respectively with the clear margin (3-0) in Commonwealth Games 2018.

In Swimming

The men’s 50m butterfly semi-final was qualified by Virdhawal Khade but failed to reach the finals. While Srihari Natraj was cleared in the 100m backstroke.

In Hockey

Indian women’s lost their hockey against Wales with the margin of 2-3 in Commonwealth Games 2018.

India performance in Commonwealth Games 2018 Day 2

On the 2nd day of Commonwealth Games 2018, Australia was leading with 14 gold medals making the total of 36. England and Canada are on second and third position with two gold medals along with the total of 18 and 11 respectively. India is currently in the fifth position and is expected to climb up with the total of four medals.

In Weightlifting:

For weightlifting, Sanjitha Chanu and Deepak Lather won Gold and Bronze medals respectively on the 2nd day of Commonwealth Games 2018.

Manipuri weightlifter Sanjita Chanu won the second gold medal in women’s 53-kg weightlifting event of the Commonwealth Games 2018 thereby making India proud. She lifted the total of 192 kg (84 kg in Snatch and 108 kg in Clean and Jerk) to win the medal for India.

Deepak Lather who is still a teenager became the youngest Indian weightlifter won the Commonwealth Games 2018 medal. He won a bronze medal in the men’s 69-kg category by lifting the total of 295kg (136kg+159kg) on Friday in the Gold Coast of Australia.

In Boxing:

On Friday, Amit Phangal won the match against Tetteh Sulemanu (Ghana) in men’s 46-49-kg round by 5-0. With this achievement, Amit Kumar became the second Indian boxer after Naman Tanwar to reach the quarter-finals of Commonwealth Games 2018.

In Hockey:

Indian women’s hockey team won their match against Malaysian rivals by 4-1 in the Group A match held on the 2nd day of Commonwealth Games 2018.
