According to the latest news, Flying Officer of Indian Air Force Avani Chaturvedi has set an example by flying a fighter plane alone. An Indian Air Force officer said, lying Officer Avani Chaturvedi made a history. She became the first female fighter jet pilot in the country to fly fighter aircraft alone. For the first time in 2015, the central government had permitted to include women as a fighter jet pilot.

After this, on June 18, 2016, the Air Force commissioned three women to become a female pilot. Apart from Avani Chaturvedi, Mohana Singh, and Sage Kanth were also included.

For the first time, Avani Chaturvedi got an opportunity to fly on the plane during her study. The adventures of that flight awakened her to become a fighter pilot. On receiving a fighter plane pilot commission, Avni said, ‘Everyone dream that they fly in the air. If you look towards the sky, you wish to fly like a bird. Flying at the speed of the voice is something like a dream and if this opportunity is achieved, means that dream turned true.

Avani Chaturvedi’s duration of first flight in MiG-21 was of 30 minutes.  These planes have a capability of fast landing and superfast takeoff.  It’s a tough job to fly it. This is the oldest aircraft of the Indian Air Force. It is believed that during the first flight, complex operations are not tried. A certain drill is to be executed. It is said that the first flight of a pilot is an unforgettable event of his life. Which anybody always wants to remember. Officers said that this is a big step in a pilot career.

Avani Chaturvedi was born on October 27, 1993. Her father is an engineer in the Water Resources Department of Madhya Pradesh Government. Mother is a housewife. Elder brother is serving on the official post in the Army. Avani Chaturvedi is very fond of table tennis, chess along with painting and sketching too. Her family always support and motivate her.

According to the officials, Avani Chaturvedi will go through rigorous training to achieve full skill. For the next six months, she will know about the complex aspects of fighter planes. After this, she will graduate on the subject and learn how to use fighter plane in the war.
