Earlier, the Indian Railways had announced 90 thousand new posts in which more than 20 million Candidates have already applied. In its new circular, the department has announced 10 thousand new vacancies for 9000 Railway Locations and Loco Pilot posts.

New circular of Indian Railway

The Indian Railway in March 2018 changed its vacancies to 20 thousand new posts in order to increase employment opportunities.

According to the circular, now the Railways will provide a total of 1 lakh 10 thousand jobs. Earlier, Railways had withdrawn 90 thousand job vacancies. The applications for new posts will start from May 2018.

Vacancies in Railway Forces

According to the information given by the Railway Department News Agency, 9 thousand new posts of Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force are removed. Even for the loco pilot, ten thousand new vacancies have been removed. All the advertisement related to these vacancies will be released in May this year.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal is making vast changes in the Railways. His main aim is to focus on passenger’s safety and to prevent derailment of the trains. The electrification of the line is done at many places.

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is the Indian Railways recruitment body. It conducts multiple examinations every year across the country at both central and regional levels. Its aim is to fill multiple vacancies for Indian Railways.
The ministry released information about the RRB Group D jobs a few days ago. It has to fill 62, 907 vacancies in various posts. Under RRB Group D, this railway ministry will hire candidates who are eligible for the post of Trackman, helpers, and gateman all across India.

Applications applied

The Indian Railways released the notification for the posts on its official website on February 10, 2018. Railway has already recruited 26,502 people pilots and 62,990 posts of helper in different departments in Group D.

The last date to apply for the post was March 12, but later it got extended to March 31. 20 million Candidates have applied for these posts. According to the department, more than 50 lakh applications have been received for Loco pilot. Railways have taken recruitment of 62,907 posts of Helper in different departments in 26,502 Loco pilots in Group D.

  • The starting date to fill the applications form is February 10, 2018.
  • The last date for the application form is March 31, 2018.
  • The Last date for online payment of the application form is March 31, 2018.
  • The last date of SBI challan is March 31, 2018.
  • The last date post office challan is March 29, 2018.
  • The Exam Date for the post is April/May 2018.

Academic Qualifications required for these posts:

The candidate must carry the passing certificate of Class 10th or ITI from any institutions mentioned by NCVT/SCVT or might have any National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Age Limit:

The age required for this post should be in the bracket of 18 to 31 years. This is applicable as per the government rules.

Pay Scale:

The shortlisted candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 per month along with the allowances as per 7th CPC Level 1.

Application Fee: 

An application fee for General Category is Rs 500 and for those falling under the category of SC/ST/PWD/WOMEN/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward/Ex-Serviceman category is Rs 250.
